Mother's Day

Chuck and the kids got me a bracelet for mother's day and dad got all of us girls a flower to wear to church. A funny Samuel story: For family home evening we were making Samuel a job chart and so we were talking about how each of us has jobs we do. We talked about daddy going to work and then I asked Samuel what mommy's jobs were. He quickly said, "cleaning up my messes"! That's why we're making him a job chart!

Issac's 1st Bath

Issac was really good for his first bath in the little tub. He didn't cry at all. Bella enjoyed helping out.

Samuel Dressing Himself

Samuel is always really proud of dressing himself. The only problem is sometimes he has a little trouble. This day he had his shirt inside out and on backwards. But it didn't end there - he had his underware on backwards and his shorts were on backwards too! At least he is finally interested in doing it by himself.

Our Week In Review

This week Bella had a few more falls one of which I didn't see, but she came running with a little wound to her head. Isaac took his first "real" bath in the little tub. Samuel is working on dressing himself and was having a hard week being very bored which results in destruction. I thought he was being so good while I was taking care of the baby, only to find out he had broken the antena off his hummer and used the sharp end to scrap the sealant off our concrete stair!

I ventured to the post office with all three kids. It was disasterous! I had the baby in the carseat and was trying to hold Bella who was kicking trying to get down. Meanwhile Samuel knocked a whole pile of envelopes on the floor and when I asked him to pick them up he instead kicked them under a table. Then I had to let Bella down and pick up the envelopes the whole time trying to keep the kids nearby! I was only inside for about 10 minutes, but it seemed like a lifetime! It will be a little while before I venture out again on errands!

Chuck and Wes went to the Jazz and Lacker's play off game. Samuel rode with them to Bountiful where he enjoyed jumping on grandma Luann's trampoline. He went hiking with Chuck and they all went to IKEA and the dinosaur museum at Thanksgiving Point.

I rode home with Trina, Bella and Isaac. On Saturday we had Trina's baby shower at Carrie's house. It was fun to see everyone and show them our little Isaac. We spent Mother's Day with mom and then drove home. The ride home was brutal! We left at 1:30 and didn't get home until after 7:30. We had to make 5 stops - potty breaks for Samuel and feeding the baby. The DVD broke and at times all three kids were crying! At one point Bella was making noises that sounding like singing. I told her she was such a good singer and then Samuel who was really onary said, "I don't like that song Bella!" We were just glad to finally make it home!

Our Week In Review

Chuck had the kids two nights in a row as I had the Young Women from my last ward give me a baby shower and the next evening was Trina's baby shower in Cedar City. While Chuck was watching the kids one night he heard Samuel hollering, "She's drinking dirty water!". He walked into the bathroom to see Bella drinking from a pop bottle she'd filled up from the toliet. This is gross enough, but to add to the story Samuel had peed in the toliet and hadn't flushed it so Bella was drinking pee water from the toliet! For some reason she has a fascination with the toliet and we just can't keep her away from it!

Bella, who is our fearless climbing child, had a few bad falls this week. We were at Lowe's and had one of those carts where two kids can ride behind the cart. We had her strapped in, but she was wiggling around and the strap broke and she fell about three feet right on her belly and face. Poor thing had a bright red mark on her cheek where she landed. Good thing for the puffy cheeks! Then later that day her and Samuel were playing in the jeep. Samuel opened the Bella decided to climb out. Well, the jeep has a lift and so it is pretty high and she fell right out onto her face in the dirt. We just hope she makes it through this stage without some broken bones or serious injury!

We also vertured out Saturday shopping with the three kids. We quickly decided we needed two carts. One to haul the kids and one for things we were purchasing. I went back to get a cart and started shopping. Poor Chuck took all the kids. I was wondering how I was going to find them again and then realized all I had to do was listen. I could hear the baby crying and Samuel hollering about something. I made my way to the toy aisle where I spotted a very frustrated Chuck. He had a crying baby, Bella had pooped and there were toys pulled from the shelves all over the floor. He was exasperated to say the least and wanted to know what had taken me so long!

Our New Home

I finally got around to taking a few pictures of the new home. This is the outside now that it is complete. Notice the paper blinds in our master bedroom. We haven't bought any blinds yet so we just have our house plans hanging up in our bedroom. We only have one close neighbor now and he always keeps his blinds closed so I don't really worry about not having any blinds. The one bad thing about the new place is that there is a lot of loose red dirt and it gets everywhere! Hopefully we'll be able to get the yard finished this summer and that should help. We really love our new place. The floor plan turned out even better than we imagined when we were planning it. We had a lot of fun and will probably build again some day. But not until the kids are a little older. We spent several hours every week for almost a year on this project. It was hard enough with the two little ones - there's no way we could do it with three!

This is our front door and living room area or as Chuck likes to say the expensive room we had to build to house the piano. It's usually the only area of the house I can keep clean!


Right now we have some beautiful views out our windows. That will eventually change when we get a neighbor, but for now we enjoy the beauty each day.

A partial picture of our kitchen area. I really love our kitchen and family room area. They are very spacious - much more than we thought they were going to be from the drawings. I love having the sun come in through the windows in the morning. You can also see our concrete floor in this picture. The color turned out nothing like the sample. It was supposed to be a tan color, but instead is more red. This actually works for us because there is always red dirt on the floor and this way it just blends in! At first the floor was giving me grief because it was so shiny and we couldn't keep it that way, it had varying color, there were rain marks from the concrete getting wet when it was curing, you could see where they'd wiped the rag during the sealing process etc. Then I realized the beauty of a concrete floor is that it just has great personality and now I really love it!
